Q2 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Effingham County?

There were eight offenders living in Effingham County released on parole during the second quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Galesburg Reporter.

The data shows all of the released offenders in Effingham County were men. The median age of the parolees was 29. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2020, and the oldest was a 57-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2020.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Tanner C. Barnes. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2019 when he was 23 years old. He is now 25.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2021 in each Effingham County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
