City of Monmouth City Council will meet March 3

I. CALL TO ORDER & PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Rod Davies called the meeting to order in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 100 East Broadway at 6:00 p.m. and led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
II. ROLL CALL
City Clerk Susan S. Trevor called the roll and those answering Present were: AldermenJay Grant, Brad Bone (remote), Susan Twomey (remote), Brian Daw, Jim Conard, Juan Pinedo, Kevin Ferry and John VanVleet Also Present: Mayor Rod Davies, City Clerk Susan S. Trevor, City Administrator Lew Steinbrecher, City Attorney Marcum Spears, Building and Zoning Director Joe Clark, Woodard and Curran Public Works Director Brayden Bledsoe, Communications Director Ken Helms, MFD Chief Casey Rexroat, MPD Chief Joe Switzer
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. Approval of January 21, 2025 Council Meeting Minutes
It was moved by Alderman Grant and seconded by Alderwoman Twomey (remote) to approve the January 21, 2025 Council Meeting Minutes as presented. AYE: Aldermen Grant, Bone (remote), Alderwoman Twomey (remote), Aldermen Conard and Pinedo NAY: none PASS: Aldermen Daw, Ferry and VanVleet MOTION CARRIED.
IV. PRESENTATION TO THE COUNCIL
A. Presentations or Citizen Inquiries (All inquiries are limited to 3 minutes per City Ordinance)
1. There were none to be considered.
B. Consent Agenda (Items on Consent Agenda will not be discussed unless a request is made to remove an item for discussion).
1. Approval of Bills
It was moved by Alderman Daw and seconded by Alderwoman Twomey to approve the bills as presented. AYE: Alderman Bone (remote) Alderwoman Twomey (remote), Aldermen Conard, Pinedo, Ferry, VanVleet, Grant and Bone (remote) NAY: none
MOTION CARRIED.
V. COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE
A. Building and Zoning January Report – Director Clark
Open Projects: 1198 N. Main (Beck Oil), 1000 S. Main (Complete Auto)
Awarded Demolitions by City: 1114 E. 1st St., 924 S. 1st St., 222-225 S. 6th St.
All filed 10-day notices with the State and all demolitions were funded through State Grant Funds.
B. Woodard and Curran December Report – Director Bledsoe
➢ Advanced Plumbing is completing tie-ins to the new water main on West Harlem for the new Water Treatment Plant. As weather warms up surface restoration will begin for disturbances that occurred due to the installation of the new water main.
➢ A bid opening for a generator for the new West Harlem Water Treatment Plant was held on January 22nd, but no bids were received; therefore, it will be going back out for bid with a bid opening scheduled for February 20th at 11:00 a.m. here at City Hall.
➢ West Harlem Phase I Road Construction project is under review by IDOT and will go out for bid around April 25th.
➢ So far this winter there have been 8 water main breaks that are all under control. There was another break this morning and the department is working on it.
