Knox County taxpayers paid the 19th largest sum in sales taxes in November 2024, according to Illinois tax records.

In total, Knox County residents paid $1 million in sales taxes during November 2024.

Knox County ranked 18th in the Prairie State the month before, with $936,087 spent in sales taxes.

The County School Facility Tax accounted for the largest share of sales taxes paid by Knox County residents in November 2024.

As of 2021, Illinois was the highest taxed state in the US. A study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes were 39.83% higher than the national average.
