Fulton County Executive Committee met Jan. 7

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

1. Call to Order

Time: 7:00 PM

2. Roll Call

Roll call was taken, quorum was present

3. Call for Additions/Deletions to and Approval of Agenda

Member Kessel moved to approve the agenda with a second from Member L. Southwood. Motion was carried by roll call vote with all ayes (7,0).

4. Approval of Previous Minutes – December 3, 2024

Member Kessel moved to approve with a second from Member L. Southwood. Motion was carried by roll call vote with all ayes (7,0).

5. Announcements, Communication and Correspondence – None

7. Reports from Committee Chairs

a. Community Development, Zoning

Member Grigsby reported that an Amendment correcting the 2019 Ordinance Creating Zoning Provisions for the Distribution and Sale of Medical and Recreational Cannabis in Fulton County, IL from “Chapter 9.4” to “Chapter 9.6”, will be going to the full board for approval.

b. Health

Member Platt reported that the work on the shower rooms at the Clayberg has started again.

c. County Highway

Member Beck reported that the work on the building is still going smoothly. Setting the Highway Engineer’s Salary will be going to the full board.

d. Finance, Insurance, Personnel, Legislative

Member L. Southwood reported that an email will be going out asking for a request on spending the Safety Grant. It was agreed to research a Hotel/Motel Tax.

e. Property

Member Kessel reported that the committee began discussion on what to prioritize renovating at the Courthouse, DG Shelfs, and looking back into building a Sally Port.

f. Campground/Safety

Member Williams reported that the Campground is looking into purchasing a smaller tractor, and selling the larger one. The Contract for Police Services with the City of Cuba will be going to the full board.
