City of Galesburg Tree Commission met Sept. 9
Here are the minutes provided by the commission:
Meeting was called to order by Ann Pennington at 4:00 pm
Roll Call: Present: Members: Ann Pennington, Pat Trant, Dan Thompson, Bill Sime, Jane Easterly, Parks and Recreation Director Don Miles
Absent: none
Minutes: Minutes from the August meeting were approved, with a motion from Bill Sime, seconded by Jane Easterly.
Forestry Report:
The Forestry Report was provided for August. Pat Trant asked about the number of loads dropped off for August seemed higher than normal. Director Miles stated that it was probably due to citizens still cleaning up from the storm in July.
Old Business:
Short discussions about tree tags for the Library and the NOVA Singer’s proposal that was bought to the commission a few months back. It was determined to ask Darla Krejci back to discuss the item again.
New Business:
It was decided to start looking for a site for next year’s Arbor Day tree planting. The commission also decided to skip November’s meeting due to the Veteran’s Day holiday and have a meeting in December.
