Mercer County School District 404 Board of Education met Aug. 21

Prior to Roll Call, President Bill Smock opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.
ATTENDANCE
Board members present upon roll call: Monson, Smock, Nelson, Wagner and Lower.
A quorum was present.
Absent: Balmer and Yates.
Administrators present: Superintendent Tim Farquer, Principals Ibouhouten, Robertson, Sedam and McPeek.
Also in Attendance: Recording Secretary Leanne McDermott and live-streaming student.
Reporters: None.
CONSENT AGENDA
1. There was a motion by Monson, seconded by Nelson to approve the following items on the consent agenda.

PRESS POLICY QUARTERLY UPDATE
2. There was a motion by Monson, seconded by Lower, to approve the second reading of the Press Policy Quarterly Update Issue 115.
Majority of Ayes by Voice Vote. Motion carried.
FY25 DISTRICT GOALS
3. There was a motion by Monson, seconded by Nelson, to approve the FY25 District Goals.
Majority of Ayes by Voice Vote. Motion carried.
E-LEARNING PLAN RENEWAL
4. There was a motion by Monson, seconded by Wagner to table the E-learning plan renewal.
Majority of Ayes by Voice Vote. Motion carried.
JOURNEY 12 COMMUNITY FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROPOSAL
5. There was a motion by Wagner, seconded by Monson to approve the agreement with Journey 12 in the amount of $53,974.
Roll Call: 5 Ayes, 0 Nays. Motion carried.
DISTRICT TREASURER’S CONTRACT
6. There was a motion by Monson, seconded by Wagner to raise the district treasurer’s contract to $2,350.
Roll Call: 5 Ayes, 0 Nays. Motion carried.
TENTATIVE FY25 BUDGET
7. There was a motion by Wagner, seconded by Monson to approve the tentative FY25 Budget.
Roll Call: 5 Ayes, 0 Nays. Motion carried.
TABLE TENTATIVE 2024 SCHOOL LEVY
8. There was a motion by Monson, seconded by Nelson to approve tabling the tentative 2024 school levy.
Majority of Ayes by Voice Vote. Motion carried.
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH ALEDO PARK DISTRICT
9. There was a motion by Monson, seconded by Lower to approve the Intergovernmental Agreement with the Aledo Park District.

FUTURE GREEN ELECTRICITY POWER PURCHASE AGREEMENT RENEWAL
10. There was a motion by Monson, seconded by Lower to approve IEC Powered by Future Green Electricity Power Purchase Agreement Renewal.

11. There was a motion by Monson, seconded by Lower to go into Closed Session at 7:58 p.m.
