McDonough County Board Elms/Building & Grounds Committee met Aug. 13
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3rd floor, Law Library. Committee Members in attendance included, Vice Chair Terra Litchfield, Dustin Berg, Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, Vicky Kipling, and Dana Walker. Chair Larry Aurelio and Member Clayton Murphy were absent. Others in attendance included Patrick Stout, Elms Administrator Jeff Howd, County Chair Scott Schwerer, Deputy Clerk Emily Flynn, and Michael Fries via telephone.
Vice Chair Terra Litchfield called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Review and Approval of July 9, 2024 Minutes
Member Berg moved with a second by Member Walker to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Farm Report
None.
Administrator’s Report
Census is at 68, with 8 being Medicare, 53 being Medicaid and, 11 private-pay. Medicare currently owes $246,017.35. There were 12 admissions, and 15 discharges.
Financial Report
Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Kipling to approve the July, 2024 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Elms Claims
Member Cox moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the Elm’s claims as submitted. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 6 yeas, 0 nays, 0 vacant and 2 absent.
Discuss Solar Panels for the Elms
Member Walker expressed interest in soliciting bids. Member Cox made a motion to table the discussion until the September 10, 2024 meeting with a second by Member Cortelyou. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 4 yeas, 2 nays, 0 vacant and 2 absent.

None.
Michael Fries – Courthouse Project Update
Michael Fries provided an update on the Courthouse project.
Change Orders with CAD Construction and Design, Approve Painting the Soffit and Corbel on the Courthouse, and Approve Chimney Replacement
Member Cortelyou made a motion to move Change Orders with CAD Construction and Design, Approve Painting the Soffit and Corbel on the Courthouse, and Approve Chimney Replacement to Full Board moved with a second by Member Kipling. Motion carried on a voice vote.
McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report
None.
Building and Grounds Claims
Member Walker moved with a second by Member Berg to approve the July, 2024 Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried on a voice vote.
