CALL TO ORDER

The ROWVA Board of Education met in their regular meeting in the High School LMC. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Johnson at 7:00 pm.

The following members answered roll call at 7:01 pm:

People present were Board members, administrators, Mr. Campagna and Ms. Dielfield.

PRINCIPALS’ REPORTS

Mrs. Danner presented the elementary principal’s report. She reviewed: Educational spotlight.

Mr. Rees presented the jr./sr. high school principal’s report. He reviewed: Summer spotlight, education spotlight and upcoming events/activities.

SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT

Dr. Dunlap presented the superintendent’s report. All items were Agenda items.

ACTION ITEMS

*Amended Budget

Dr. Dunlap presented the 2023-2024 Amended Budget and recommended it be approved as presented.

Mrs. Bean moved and Mr. Kuelper seconded the motion. Polled vote: Mr. Johnson (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. Kuelper (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. West (Aye ☒ Nay ☐) and Mrs. Bean (Aye ☒ Nay ☐). Motion carried. 

*Milk Bids

Dr. Dunlap recommended that the Milk Bid be awarded to Enyeart for the 2024-2025 school year. Mr. Kuelper moved and Mr. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion carried. 

*Fuel Bids

Dr. Dunlap recommended that the Fuel Bid be awarded to West Central FS for July 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024. Mr. West moved and Mr. Kuelper seconded the motion. Motion carried.

*Jr/Sr Student Handbook

Mr. Rees presented the 2024-2025 Student Handbook for the second reading and requested it be approved. Mr. Kuelper moved and Mrs. Bean seconded the motion. Motion carried.

*Elementary Student Handbook

Mrs. Danner presented the 2024-2025 Student Handbook for the second reading and requested it be approved. Mrs. Bean moved and Mr. Kuelper seconded the motion. Motion carried.

*PRESS Policies

Dr. Dunlap presented PRESS Policies (2:270, 2:40, 2:260,2:265, 4:190, 5:10, 5:100, 5:20, 5:35, 5:300, 7:10, 7:20, 7:180, 7,10-E and Review of Policies 2:50, 2:60, 2:140, 2:140-E, 4:20, 4:110, 5:40, 6:40) for the second reading and recommended they be approved. Mr. West moved and Mr. Kuelper seconded the motion. Motion carried.

*Driver Education Vehicle

Dr. Dunlap requested approval to purchase a new vehicle for the Driver Education program. Mr. West moved and Mr. Kuelper seconded the motion. Polled vote: Mr. Johnson (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. Kuelper (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. West (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), and Mrs. Bean (Aye ☒ Nay ☐). Motion carried.

*Early Graduates

Dr. Dunlap recommended that Paige Gaard, Will Blender, Jacob Wheeler, Alexis Coverdill, Bella Edwards, Andrew Cain, Lucas Cain, Daniel Crouse and Charley Simpson be allowed to graduate in December 2024. Mrs. Bean moved and Mr. West seconded the motion. Motion carried.

CONSENT AGENDA

Mr. West moved and Mr. Kuelper seconded the motion to approve the Consent Agenda for the minutes of May 21, 2024, the Treasurer’s Report, the payment of all bills in Education, Operations and Maintenance, Transportation, IMRF, Working Cash, Fire/Safety and Activity Funds as listed on the official copy, Meeting Minute review and Personnel (Resignations: Katie Parente – PreK, James Sams – Asst. Football & Girls’ Basketball, Kaevahn Pendleton – Head JV Football, Emily Short – Asst. HS Girls’ Track, Tony Triplett – JH Football, and Max Roberts – JH Boys’ Track. Hires: Jeff Hannam – Head Girls’ Basketball, Nikki Ponce – Head JH Boys’ Track, Emily Short – Asst. JH Boys’ Track, Tony Triplett – Volunteer Asst. HS Football, Grant Erlacher – JV Asst. REA CONTRACT

Dr. Dunlap presented the 2024-2027 REA Collective Bargaining Agreement and recommended it be adopted. Mr. Kuelper moved and Mr. West seconded the motion. Polled vote: Mr. Johnson (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. Kuelper (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. West (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), and Mrs. Bean (Aye ☒ Nay ☐).

Motion carried.

Mr. Kuelper moved and Mr. West seconded the motion to adjourn at 7:59 pm. Motion carried.
