Mercer County School District 404 Community Forum met April 9

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Mercer County Board of Education held a Community forum on April 9, 2024 to discuss District Goals and Progress. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Board members present upon roll call: Smock, Lower, Monson and Wagner.

Balmer, Yates and Nelson were absent. A quorum was present.

Community Members invited to attend and give input include the following:

DISCUSSION

1. Board President Smock welcomed the audience and asked for introductions.

2. The Mercer County CUSD #404 Board of Education presented their “Promise to the Public” and reviewed the 2023 Process, including an overview of the District Goals developed from last Community Forum. The District Mission Statement, Goals, Core Values and Beliefs, and Board Cycle were discussed with handouts.

3. Superintendent Scott Petrie and Building Principals gave a presentation on Pursuit and Accomplishment toward the 2023-2024 goals.

4. Packets were provided to the participants to help determine the efficiency of communication with the district goals and to help develop the change goals going into the future. Tables had individual discussions on the survey questions.

5. A motion was made by Wagner, seconded by Lower, to adjourn at 8:31PM.

Majority of Ayes by Voice Vote. Motion carried.
