West Central Community Unit School District #235 Board of Education met Feb. 9.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
The meeting was called to order by Board Secretary Clark at 6:01 p.m. in the unit office conference room. The following board members answered roll call: Bigger, Chockley, Clark, and Gullberg. Board Members Higgins, Schaley and Vancil absent. Also present were Superintendent Day, Parents of Student #26013, and Student #26013.
PUBLIC COMMENT
There was no one present who wished to address the Board on any agenda items.
HEARING OFFICER
Motion by Bigger, seconded by Chockley to appoint Board Secretary Mindy Clark as the presiding hearing officer. On roll call the following members voted aye: Chockley, Clark, Gullberg, and Bigger. 4-0 Motion carried.
CLOSED SESSION
Motion by Chockley, seconded by Bigger to enter closed session pursuant to the Open Meeting Act - 5 ILCS 120/1 et seq. to hear a student discipline case at 6:02 p.m. Majority of Ayes by Voice Vote. Motion carried.
On roll call the following members answered roll call: Bigger, Clark Chockley, and Gullberg. Also present is Superintendent Day. The following participated by invitation of the Board: Parents of Student #26013 and Student #26013.
Motion by Bigger, seconded by Gullberg to return to open session at 6:41 p.m. On roll call the following members voted aye: Gullberg, Bigger, Clark, and Chockley. 4 - 0 Motion carried.
ACTION ITEM
No action was taken.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Bigger, seconded by Chockley to adjourn at 6:42 p.m. Majority of Ayes by Voice Vote. Motion carried.
