Village of Altona Village Board met Nov. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

• The board meeting was called to order on Thursday, November 2nd, by President Derrick Appell. Board members present: President: Derrick Appell. Clerk: Kelly Scott. Trustees: Dale Grawe, Jeremy Williams, Keith Holland, Nick Morris, and Ryan West. Absent: Treasurer: Mark Compton and Trustee: Brian DeVito. Present: Chad Long-Village Attorney and 2 guests.

• Minutes from October 5th, 2023, was motioned to approve by Ryan and 2nd by Keith. All Ayes.

• Payment of bills for November was motioned to approve by Keith, and 2nd by Nick. Ayes: Dale, Jeremy, Keith, Nick and Ryan. Passes: 5-0.

• Financial report was received and if questions, see Mark, since he was absent from the meeting.

• Public Comment: A Village resident spoke about her concerns of 206 E Main St.

Old Business

• Code Book Revisions & Passage of Any and All Ordinances:

• Any Property Sales or Purchasing Updates or Actions & Possible Closed Sessions: Dale motioned to have Chad move forward on the process of getting the property at 206 E Main St. condemned/demoed. Keith 2nd the motion. All Ayes.

• Service Agreement for Lift Station Generator: Ryan motioned and Dale 2nd the motion. Ayes: Dale, Jeremy, Keith, Nick and Ryan. Passes: 5-0

• Tax Levy - Truth in Taxation Hearing Next Month: Will be held at 6:45 before December 7th board meeting.

New Business:

• Announcements were read by Derrick:

• State of ROWVA District - Supt. James Dunlap gave a presentation on the district. He spoke about Academics, Athletics, Facilities and Finances.

• Items/Projects to Be Considered & Appropriated for Next Year:

• Computer for Jason: Ryan motioned to purchase 2 laptop computers, one for Jason Village Employee and one for Kelly - Village Clerk with a price not to exceed $1,500.00. Dale 2nd the motion. Ayes: Dale, Jeremy, Keith, Nick and Ryan, Passes: 5-0

Committee Reports

• Water/Sewer: Had to replace the block heater on pump house generator..

• Streets/Garbage:

• Various Street Work Projects & Improvement Plan Updates &/or Action: We are on the schedule for getting the south half oiled & chipped for 2024.

• Asphalt 100 Block Park Street & South Side 100 E Main St: Superior Asphalt is still planning to get this done in November. If they are unable, we will be put on the schedule for earlier in the year.

• Parks/Sidewalks:

• Various Park projects updates &/or Purchasing of Equipment: Nick is trying to get playground installed.

• Pavilion: The Lions Club was looking at a 30 x 40 pavilion. Nick is going to get quotes from Menards.

• Sidewalks: Sidewalk project will be done in the spring. Price will be the same as bid.

• Employee Report:

• Adjournment: Keith motioned to adjourn at 8:20 p.m. and Ryan 2nd the motion. All Ayes. The next scheduled meeting will be Thursday, December 7th, 2023.
