5.2% of Knox County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Knox County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.2% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,145 people out of the 50,193 living in Knox County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Knox County has remained fairly stable compared to the 5.2% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Knox County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.2%.

Of the 20,993 people who had a job during that time, 31 were employed in the Armed Forces and 20,962 belonged to the civilian labor force.
