McDonough County Board Finance Committee met Sept. 18.

The monthly Finance Committee meeting was held on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Law Library. Committee members present were Chair Travis Hiel, Vice Chair Larry Aurelio, Letha Clark, Mike Cox, and Joe Erlandson. Members Dave Cortelyou, and Dave Nissen were absent. Others in attendance included County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.
Chair Hiel called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.
Review and Approve FY 2024 Budget
• McDonough County Public Transportation
McDonough County Public Transportation will be given an annual amount of $15,000.00, in place of a rider fee.
• Health Department Levy
Chair Hiel will send a letter to Kari Allen that the Health Department will be responsible for paying their own payroll taxes.
• Glass Recycling
A discussion was held regarding how to find additional revenue sources, $2,000.00 will be reserved for this.
• ARPA
A discussion was held on how to handle the ARPA money and expenditures.
• Dog Tag Registration
Registration fees will increase, and cats will start being registered.
Review and Approve FY 2024 Health Insurance Premium
There will be an increase of 8% to individual premiums.

Member Clark moved with a second by Member Aurelio to adjourn the meeting at 9:03 a.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
