McDonough County Board Elms/Building & Grounds Committee met Sept. 12.

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members in attendance included, Chair Larry Aurelio, Vice Chair Terra Litchfield, Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, Vicky Kipling, Clayton Murphy, and Dana Walker. Member Dustin Berg was absent. Others in attendance included Chad Wilson, Patrick Stout, Elms Administrator Jeff Howd, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and Deputy Clerk Stacey Alexander.
Chair Larry Aurelio called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Review and Approval of August 8, 2023 Minutes
Member Cox moved with a second by Member Litchfield to approve the minutes with a correction. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Farm Report
County Chair Schwerer stated that it is dry out.
Administrator’s Report
Elms Administrator Jeff Howd gave the report. Census is at 67, with 7 being Medicare, 49 being Medicaid and, 14 private-pay. Medicare currently owes $111,669.74. There were 10 admissions, and 15 discharges.
Financial Report
Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Kipling to approve the August, 2023 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Elms Claims
Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Cox to approve the Elm’s claims as submitted. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 7 yeas, 0 nays, 0 vacant and 1 absent.
Macomb Public Building Commission
On Tuesday they will talk about a new 911 call center.
McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report
Chad Wilson gave the report. The west side bell tower window will be repaired, the Assistant State’s Attorney’s office and the jail roof are finished. All permits from the Fire Marshall are complete and posted. The water fountain on the 2nd floor of the Courthouse is leaking, Wilson asked if it should be replaced or removed. Member Litchfield will check with the Health Department to see if it has to be there.
Building and Grounds Claims
Member Cox moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the August, 2023 Building and Grounds Claims.
Motion carried on a voice vote.

County Board Chair Comments
County Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that on September 20th at 5:30 p.m. there will be a hearing on the wind farm, the County Board Meeting will be held on September 20th at 7:00 p.m. and both will be held at the Spoon River College Outreach Center.

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Kipling to adjourn the meeting at 7:31 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
