Village of Altona Village Board met Sept. 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:                

• The board meeting was called to order on Thursday, September 7th, by President Derrick Appell.  Board members present:  President: Derrick Appell.  Treasurer: Mark Compton.  Clerk: Kelly Scott.  Trustees: Dale Grawe, Jeremy Williams, Keith Holland, Nick Morris and Ryan West.  Absent: Trustees: Brian DeVito.   Present: Chad Long – Village Attorney 

• Minutes from August 3rd, 2023 meeting, was motioned to approve by Dale and 2nd by Jeremy.  All Ayes.

• Payment of bills for September was motioned to approve by Ryan, and 2nd by Nick.  Ayes: Dale, Jeremy, Keith, Nick, and Ryan.  Passes: 5-0

• Financial report was reviewed by Mark.  No Interfund Transfers.

• Public Comment: None

Old Business

• Code Book Revisions & Passage of Any and All Ordinances:

• Any Property Sales or Purchasing Updates or Actions & Possible Closed Sessions:

• Solar Update: Still waiting to hear back from Rock River Electric.               

New Business: 

• Announcements were read by Derrick:

• Purchase of Stihl Back Pack Blower &/or other small equipment:  Motioned by Ryan, 2nd by Dale.  Ayes:  Dale, Jeremy, Keith, Nick and Ryan.  Passes: 5-0

• Ordinance: 2023-03:  Passage of Ordinance to Change N Olin/W North Streets. To a 4-Way Stop.  Motioned by Dale and 2nd by Nick.  All Ayes.

Committee Reports  

• Water/Sewer: 

• Sink hole East of Baptist Church.  Waiting for Brodie to repair.

• Streets/Garbage:

• Various Street Work Projects & Improvement Plan Updates &/or Action:  Discussed the mounting of the Radar Signs.

• Asphalt 100 Block Park Street & South Side 100 E Main St:  Received quotes from Superior Asphalt, will bring quotes to meeting in October.

• Parks/Sidewalks:

• Various Park projects updates &/or Purchasing of Equipment:

• October 28th will be Trunk or Treat from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

• Sidewalk Replacement Per Bid:  Keith motioned to accept the bid from Tammy Lufkin Construction in the amount of $8,050.00. Dale 2nd the motion.  Ayes: Dale, Jeremy, Keith, Nick, Ryan.  Passes:  5-0

• Employee Report:

• Adjournment:  Keith motioned to adjourn at 7:50 p.m. and Dale 2nd the motion.  All Ayes.  The next scheduled meeting will be Thursday, October 5th, 2023.
