McDonough County Board Human Resources and Planning Committee met July 13.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Human Resources and Planning Committee met on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members in attendance included Chair Letha Clark, Vice Chair Vicky Kipling, Dustin Berg, Michael Kirby, Dave Nissen, and Dana Walker. Members George Dixon and Jerry Raby were absent. Others in attendance included Wendy Hughes, Patrick Stout, Bonnie Skripps, John Vigezzi, Dr. Karen Blakeley, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and Deputy Clerk Stacey Alexander.

Chair Letha Clark called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review and Approve Minutes from June 8, 2023

Member Kirby moved with a second by Member Walker to approve the minutes with a correction. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Animal Control Report

Wendy Hughes gave the report. There were 18 dogs and 33 cats in the shelter at the end of June. John Vigezzi inquired as to what they would do if a chicken was dropped off. Vigezzi informed the Committee that he has someone who is interested in donating land for the new animal shelter.

Humane Society

A discussion was held regarding upcoming events.

None.

GIS Update

No report.

Claims

Member Kipling moved with a second by Member Kirby to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on voice vote.

Other

None.

County Board Chair Comments

Bids will be accepted until July 14th at 11:00 a.m. for masonry work on the Courthouse.

Adjourn

Member Walker moved with a second by Member Berg to adjourn the meeting at 7:14 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
