Mercer County School District 404 Board of Education Building and Ground Committee met July 11.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

● Call to order @ 6:33

In attendance: Don Yates, Bill Smock, Mark Bieri, Scott Petrie, Bray Architects

● Apollo/New Boston Projects

○ Masonry is working at Apollo and site work is happening at New Boston. Having trouble finding masonry contractors. Apollo is on track and progressing well. Discussed other options other than masonry, but there are negatives with other options that are prohibitive. Confident that by the time New Boston is ready for masonry work, they will have the labor needed. New Boston is ready for foundation work.

● Mark brought up a question to Bray regarding private donations. Bray discussed limitations on private donations to a public entity. Mark Bieri is interested in helping us procure alternative financing options such as estate planning and cash donations. Mr. Petrie and Bray are going to make some calls to look into what that would entail.

○ Petrie has discussed with the district financial advisor and legal council

○ District financial advisor needs a plan to proceed

● Discussed purchasing the house next to the Ag building

● Bray presented based off of the meeting that was held on 7/10 with HS administration

○ Discussed how these drawings would impact a larger decision for a brand new building

● Brought up older renderings from summer of 2022.

● Talked through various options that allow us to operate as close to normal but move forward with the project.

● Discuss different location to add on a new classroom wing to the building.

● Motion by Smock Second by Yates to Adjourn. 7:07
