McDonough County Board Elms/Building & Grounds Committee met June 13

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members in attendance included, Chair Larry Aurelio, Vice Chair Terra Litchfield, Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, Vicky Kipling, Clayton Murphy, and Dana Walker. Member Dustin Berg was absent. Others in attendance included Chad Wilson, Patrick Stout, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.
Chair Larry Aurelio called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Review and Approval of May 9, 2023 Minutes
Member Walker moved with a second by Member Kipling to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Farm Report
Chair Schwerer reported that the ground is dry.
Administrator’s Report
Report was given by County Chair Schwerer.
Financial Report
Member Kipling moved with a second by Member Litchfield to approve the May, 2023 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Elms Claims
Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Litchfield to approve the Elm’s claims as submitted. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 7 yeas, 0 nays, 0 vacant and 1 absent.
Macomb Public Building Commission
The jail roof is almost complete.
McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report
Chad Wilson gave the report. The Courthouse bushes have been trimmed and new mulch was put down. They are still working on the Assistant State’s Attorneys office, they worked on the Lincoln sign, and the air conditioning will be working tomorrow. The handicap sink in the men’s bathroom cracked and will be replaced. Wilson also informed the Committee that the Andover system needs to be upgraded.
Building and Grounds Claims
Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Walker to approve the May, 2023 Building and Grounds Claims.
Motion carried on a voice vote.
ARPA Discussion
Member Cox informed the Committee that he had a conference call with Freize. Members had several questions and a discussion was held on the bid process.

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Kipling to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
