Wlliamsfield Community Unit School District Board of Education met June 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The meeting was held in the Kutkat Conference Room of the district office in Williamsfield, IL at 7:32pm just following the amended budget hearing.

1. Meeting call to order by Board President Goff

2. Roll Call was taken. Present: Byrd, Hanson, Smith, and Goff. Absent: Wrage, Strom, Bouchez.

3. There was an opportunity for public comment. None were filed.

4. Motion by Hanson second by Smith to approve the following Consent Agenda items. Roll call vote: Byrd yes, Hanson yes, Smith yes, Goff yes. Motion carried.

All items listed under the consent agenda are considered to be routine by the Board of Education and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a board member requests, in which event the item will be removed from the consent agenda and considered individually.

a. Approval of June bills

b. Approval of minutes of regular Board of Education meeting on May 8, 2023

c. Approval of minutes of special Board of Education meeting on May 22, 2023

d. Approval to declare Yamaha Electric organ Model B-121R surplus

5. Motion by Hason, second by Smith to approve first read of FY24 BOE Policy updates (see here). All in favor. Motion carried.

6. Finalize BOE Committee Assignments

a. Parent/Teacher Advisory Committee - Wes Wrage (Chair), Jenny Smith (BOE), Jana Kutkat (WEA), Star Yelm (WEA), community member, Maggie Ehnle (student) 

b. Facilities & Transportation Committee - Chad Goff (Chair), Lisa Hanson (BOE), Gina Strom (BOE), Eric Bell (WEA), Adam Doubet (staff), Arnie Gonzalez (staff), Sam Cain (community member), Ethan Hunt (community members), Cade Farquer (student)

7. Motion by Hanson, second by Smith to approve the amended FY23 district budget. Roll call vote: Byrd yes, Hanson Yes, Smith Yes, Goff Yes. Motion carried.

8. Motion by Smith, second by Byrd to continue GAVC and Dual Credit tuition payment program. Roll vote: Byrd Yes, Hanson abstained, Smith yes, Goff yes. Motion carried. 

9. Motion by Hanson, second by Byrd to award electrical infrastructure specialty bid to Oberlander Electric. Roll vote. Byrd Yes, Hanson Yes, Smith Yes, Goff Yes. Motion carried. 

10. Motion by Hanson, second by Byrd to approve first read of 2023-2024 Student Handbook. All in favor. Motion carried.

11. The administrative report was given by Mr. Farquer.

12. Motion by Hanson, second by Smith to approve RW Cougar extra-duty assignments. All in favor. Motion carried. President Goff tabled the Williamsfield specific extra-duty assignments.

13. Motion by Byrd, second by Smith to adjourn. All in favor. Motion carried.
