McDonough County Board Road and Bridge Committee met June 1

The McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee held their monthly meeting on Thursday, June, 2023 at 7:00 P.M. The Meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members present included Chair Dave Cortelyou, Vice Chair Craig Foster, Eric Chapman, Mike Cox, Travis Hiel, Jerry Raby, and Jarad Royer. Member George Dixon was absent. Other persons in attendance: Dave Cadwalader, Patrick Stout, County Engineer Megan Crook, Scott Hance, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and Deputy Clerk Stacey Alexander.
Chair Dave Cortelyou called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Review Minutes from May 4, 2023
Member Foster moved with a second by Member Royer to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Discuss 2023 PP Letting
County Engineer Crook informed the Committee that she submitted the 2023 Oil Letting to IDOT in September and she still has not received approval. This will be put on the full Board agenda to allow the 2023 Oil Letting to be approved.
Project Update
The Blandinsville blacktop will hopefully be finished by June 2nd. Once that is complete, they will start the Table Grove and County Highway 22 projects. The Starr bridge project is on hold, and the Apple O bridge project has moved to phase 2. Member Cox inquired as to why they are stock piling rock so close to the rock quarry, Crook said it is to make sure they have enough rock. The house bill for Township bridge funding has passed the house.
Work Report
Report given by Dave Cadwalader. Member Hiel asked if they have received and of the new equipment, Cadwalader said that they have not.
Claims
Member Hiel moved with a second by Member Foster to approve the claims submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Other Business
Member Foster asked if they have done anything with the equipment they are no longer using, Crook said that they have not yet.
County Chair Comments
County Chair Schwerer reminded the members to have a positive attitude with the citizens who are making calls regarding roads.

Member Hiel moved with a second by Member Chapman to adjourn the meeting at 7:16 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
