Food Service Program and Equipment Needs

K-12 Consulting Companies were discussed. The committee will reach out to Quest Food Management Services, Lombard, IL, to set up a meeting in regards to short term consulting needs. Input on centralized kitchens, transporting foods, and establishing compliance in areas of nutrition and specialty diets were discussed.

CEP – Community Eligibility Provision

The district has met the 40% identified student percentage to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision for school year 2023-2024. Identified students include those who are direct certified free through SNAP, TANF, Homeless, and Foster. Students who qualify for free/reduced meals based on information from a household income form, are not included in that percentage to meet the criteria.

If approved by the BOE, this would allow all of our students that attend MCSD to receive meals for free for 4 consecutive years. This will be a discussion item on the April 26th Regular BOE meeting.

Adjourn at 4:11PM

Motion – Smock

2nd – Balmer
