McDonough County Board Elms/Building & Grounds Committee met April 11

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members in attendance included, Chair Larry Aurelio, Vice Chair Terra Litchfield, Dustin Berg, Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, Vicky Kipling, Clayton Murphy, and Dana Walker. Others in attendance included Chad Wilson, Sheriff Nick Petitgout, Patrick Stout, Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.
Chair Larry Aurelio called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Review and Approval of March 14, 2023 Minutes
Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Kipling to approve the minutes with a correction. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Farm Report
None
Administrator’s Report
Census is at 62, with 9 being Medicare, 47 being Medicaid and, 13 private-pay. Medicare currently owes $218,928.49.
There were 19 admissions, and 16 discharges.
Financial Report
Member Kipling moved with a second by Member Murphy to approve the March, 2023 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Elms Claims
Member Cox moved with a second by Member Berg to approve the Elm’s claims as submitted. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 8 yeas, 0 nays, 0 vacant and 0 absent.
Macomb Public Building Commission
Building Commission is accepting bids for an alarm at the Elm’s.
McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report
Chad Wilson gave the report. Sheriff Petitgout held a discussion regarding the Assistant State’s Attorney’s office. He also informed the Committee that he would like to hold a fund raiser along with RPTA to fix the clock in the clock tower of the Courthouse. County Clerk DeJaynes stated that she will work on finding someone to repair the steps to the east entrance of the Courthouse.
Building and Grounds Claims
Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Litchfield to approve the March, 2023 Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Other
Member Cox informed the Committee that he has not talked to the architects recently. They are supposed to be getting us a new agreement.
County Board Chair Comments
County Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that they need two people to be on the Tri-County Waste Management Board. Member Dana Walker volunteered to be on the Board.

Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Murphy to adjourn the meeting at 7:48 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
