Abingdon-Avon Community Unit No. 276 Board of Education met Feb. 8
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
1. The regular meeting of the Abingdon-Avon CUSD 276 Board of Education was held on February 8, 2023. The meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m. with Hess presiding. The following members were present: Craver, Mason, Quinn, Thurman, and Hess. Mr. Brooks arrived at 7:04 p.m. Mr. Serven arrived at 7:06 p.m.
2. A motion was made by Mr. Mason and seconded by Mr. Quinn to approve the Additions to the Agenda. Roll call: Thurman, yea; Mason, yea; Quinn, yea; Craver, yea; and Hess, yea. Motion passed.
3. A motion was made by Mr. Mason and seconded by Mr. Craver to approve the Agenda. Roll call: Quinn, yea; Thurman, yea; Craver, yea; Mason, yea; and Hess, yea. Motion passed.
4. A motion was made by Mr. Quinn and seconded by Mr. Mason to approve the Consent Agenda. Roll call: Quinn, yea; Thurman, yea; Craver, yea; Mason, yea; and Hess, yea. Motion passed.
5. A motion was made by Mr. Thurman and seconded by Mr. Hess to approve the GAVC Student Course Cost. Roll call: Mason, yea; Brooks, yea; Quinn, yea; Thurman, yea; Craver, yea; Serven, yea; and Hess, yea. Motion passed.
6. A motion was made by Mr. Quinn and seconded by Mr. Serven to approve the Overnight Stay for Maintenance Staff to attend the Pesticide Safety Education Program in Collinsville on March 26 & 27, 2023. Roll call: Serven, yea; Mason, yea; Brooks, yea; Quinn, yea; Thurman, yea; Craver, yea; and Hess, yea. Motion passed.
7. A motion was made by Mr. Craver and seconded by Mr. Brooks to go into Executive Session at 7:33 p.m. Roll call: Craver, yea; Serven, yea; Mason, yea; Brooks, yea; Quinn, yea; Thurman, yea; and Hess, yea. Motion passed.
8. A motion was made by Mr. Mason and seconded by Mr. Quinn to return to Open Session at 8:37 p.m. Roll call: Thurman, yea; Craver, yea; Serven, yea; Mason, yea; Brooks, yea; Quinn, yea; and Hess, yea. Motion passed.
9. A motion was made by Mr. Quinn and seconded by Mr. Serven to approve the February 2023 Personnel Report. Roll call: Quinn, yea; Thurman, yea; Craver, yea; Serven, yea; Mason, yea; Brooks, yea; and Hess, yea. Motion passed.
10. A motion was made by Mr. Thurman and seconded by Mr. Mason to adjourn at 8:42 p.m. Roll call: Mason, yea; Brooks, nay; Quinn, yea; Thurman, yea; Craver, yea; Serven, yea; and Hess, yea. Motion passed.
