The City of Galesburg will hold an informational meeting on April 13, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 55 W. Tompkins St., Galesburg, Illinois. The meeting will provide information and discussion of the Home Repair and Accessibility Program (HRAP) grant the City received from the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA). The program is designed to help low-to-moderate income homeowners with roof repair, correcting code violations, addressing health and safety hazards, or accessibility improvements. The funds are provided in the form of individual grants to the homeowners as a forgivable loan that is repaid by living in the house after the construction work is completed for a specified period of time (3-5 years).
To qualify for this program, households must be at or below 80% of the Area Median Income for Knox County. Please refer to the below table for FY22 income limits.
