McDonough County Board Road and Bridge Committee met Feb. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee held their monthly meeting on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 7:00 P.M. 

The Meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members present included Vice Chair Craig Foster, Eric Chapman, Mike Cox, George Dixon, Travis Hiel, Jerry Raby, and Jarad Royer. Chair David Cortelyou was absent. Other persons in attendance: Dave Cadwalader, Patrick Stout, Scott Hance, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.

Vice Chair Craig Foster called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

Review Minutes from January 5, 2023

Member Hiel moved with a second by Member Dixon to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Project Update

Scott Hance informed the Committee they have been working on the annual bridge inspections, they have 80-90 of them complete.

Work Report

Report given by Dave Cadwalader.

Claims

Member Chapman moved with a second by Member Raby to approve the claims submitted, Member Hiel passed.

Motion carried on a voice vote.

Other Business

A discussion was held regarding replacing mail boxes that were damaged by snow.

County Chair Comments

County Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that the Governor has signed the Wind and Solar Farm Law. Board Member Ken Durkin has already rewritten our Ordinance. The City of Macomb would like to do a special census and would like us to make the request along with them. The Governor will be lifting it’s Covid health emergencies later this spring.

Adjourn

Member Dixon moved with a second by Member Raby to adjourn the meeting at 7:19 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
