City of Galesburg Community Relations Commission met Feb. 2.

Meeting called to order February 2, 2023 at 6:14pm.
Chairman’s remark’s:
- Introduction of new commissioner
o McKillip made a motion to approve and Wallace seconded
o Robinson abstained and no one opposed
- Gogo didn’t want to pursue the complaint
- King and McKillip met with the city manager and mayor. They would like for the commission to provide the framework for an organization to read grants from the city.
o What would the board look like?
o Whoever the city chooses to manage the funds, what are the guidelines
Are they being ADA compliant or do they have a plan (McKillip)
o Who are the businesses/organizations receiving the funds?
o What diversity is the board comprised of? (Robinson)
Who is represented on the board?
How many people of color are on your board?
How many women are on your board?
o Who are you serving and what is the demographic make of your last event?
o What type of reporting system do you use for you guarantees?
o What is a guarantor’s background in demonstrating fund and what are the policies and procedures that are in place for a conflict of interest (Wallace)
