Village of Altona Village Board met Jan. 5 

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

∙ The board meeting was called to order on Thursday, January 5th, by President Derrick Appell. Board members present: President: Derrick Appell. Treasurer: Mark Compton. Clerk: Kelly Scott. Trustees: Dale Grawe, Shirley Kistler, Keith Holland, Nick Morris and Ryan West. Absent: Trustee: Brian DeVito. Present: Chad Long – Village Attorney and 1 guest.

∙ Minutes from December 1st, 2022 meeting, was motioned to approve by Ryan and Nick 2nd the motion. All Ayes.

∙ Payment of bills for January was motioned to approve, with the addition to pay Knox County Sheriff $840.00 and to pay Generac for a 10 yr warranty in the amount of 1,035.00 by Keith, and 2nd by Shirley. Ayes: Dale, Shirley, Keith, Nick and Ryan. Passes: 5-0

∙ Generac Extended Warranty: Keith motioned to purchase the 10 yr warranty option in the amount of $1,035.00, Dale 2nd the motion. Ayes: Dale, Shirley, Keith, Nick and Ryan. Passes 5-0

∙ Financial report was reviewed by Mark Compton. There were 2 interfund transfers: IL Funds Transfer to Corp. Checking in the amount of $9,500.00 and Corp Transfer to Refuse in the amount of $500.00 

∙ Public Comment: None

Old Business

∙ Code Book Revisions & Passage of Any and All Ordinances -

∙ Any Property Sales or Purchasing Updates or Actions & Possible Closed Sessions: Discussed options for selling lot located at 613 N. Olin St. It was decided to ask for sealed bids and to be received by March 1st. 

∙ Water Tower Maintenance Agreement with Maguire Iron Inc.: Discussed further.
