McDonough County Board Finance Committee met Jan. 11.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The monthly Finance Committee meeting was held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The  meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee members present  were Chair Travis Hiel, Vice Chair Larry Aurelio, Letha Clark, Mike Cox, Joe Erlandson, and Dave  Nissen. Member Dave Cortelyou was absent. Others in attendance included County Chair Scott Schwerer, 

Committee Secretary Stacey Alexander, Judge Heidi Benson, and Patrick Stout. 

Chair Hiel called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  

Review and Approve Minutes from December 14, 2022 

Member Erlandson moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion  carried on a voice vote.  

MCPT Report Review & Approval 

The monthly invoice for December, 2022 was reviewed. Member Aurelio moved with a second by  Member Erlandson to approve the MCPT invoice in the amount of $1,101.00 for December, 2022. Motion carried on a voice vote.  

Bushnell Senior Meals Report Review & Approval 

The monthly invoice for December, 2022 was reviewed. Member Aurelio moved with a second by  Member Clark to approve the YMCA invoice in the amount of $734.30 for December, 2022. Motion  carried on a voice vote.  

Coroner Report 

The monthly Coroner Report was received and filed. 

Monthly Financial Reports 

The monthly Financial Reports were received and filed. 

Transfer of Funds 

None. 

Warrants Issued in Vacation 

Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Erlandson to approve the Warrants Issued in Vacation.  Motion carried on a voice vote.  

Insurance Update 

None. 

Discuss ARPA Funds Action 

Member Cox informed the Committee that Klinger & Associates will make presentation to the Full Board  on February 15, 2023. 

FY 23 Public Defender Budget Resolution 

Judge Heidi Benson discussed with the Committee what the reasoning was for this Budget Resolution.  

Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the FY 23 Public Defender Budget  Resolution. Motion carried on a voice vote. 

FY 23 Public Safety Budget Resolution Child Advocacy 

Member Erlandson moved with a second by Member Aurelio to approve the FY 23 Public Safety Budget  Resolution Child Advocacy. Motion carried on a voice vote.  

Approval of Claims 

Member Nissen moved with a second by Member Aurelio to approve the Claims as submitted. Motion  carried on a voice vote.  

Executive Session 

None.  

Other 

None. 

County Board Chair Comments 

Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that during the Lame Duck Session in Springfield there was Legislation being discussed regarding Wind and Solar Farms getting out of the hands of the County and  into the hands of the State.

Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark to adjourn the meeting at 7:27 p.m. Motion  carried on a voice vote.
