According to a press release from House Republicans, Leader Tony McCombie (R-Savanna) recently named Deputy Leader Norine Hammond (R-Macomb) as chief budgeteer and Rep. Amy Elik (R-Alton) as deputy budgeteer for the caucus' budget team.

"I have a strong record of working across the aisle, as we've done in the past to increase funding for our universities and community colleges, aid in helping to address the teacher shortage in the state of Illinois and in creating a fairly funded K through 12 education budget," Hammond said. "I will work tirelessly to ensure that the budget benefits all the citizens of Illinois and ensures their needs and concerns will be considered in the budgeting process."

Hammond was first elected to the Illinois House in 2010. Her legislative experience includes serving on the Consumer Protection, Human Services and Higher Education committees. Hammond resides in Emmet Township.

Elik previously served on the House Republican budget team, the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability and other financial committees.
