Knoxville Community Unit School District #202 Board of Education met Sept. 8.

The Board of Education of Community Unit School District #202, Knox County, met in a special meeting duly called and held at 6:00 p.m. at 809 East Main Street, Knoxville, Illinois, which is within the boundaries of said District. The President called the meeting to order and directed that the roll be called. Upon roll being called, the following members were found to be present:
Dr. Harshbarger, Mrs. McCracken, Mr. Ratermann, Mrs. Rose, Mr. Scalf, Mrs. Young and Mr. Stearns

Also present were: Interim Superintendent, Marty Payne and Dr. Patricia Sullivan Vinard from the Illinois Association of School Boards.

4.1 Public Comments - None
5. IASB Presentation
Patricia Sullivan Vinard, from the Illinois Association of School Boards, presented information regarding the search process to hire a new Superintendent. The presentation included the timeline for the process, information to be included in the search brochure, the process for the potential inclusion of various community groups and contractual language for the search process.
This was followed by a question and answer session, as well as discussion with the Board of Education.
It was moved by Member Young and seconded by Member Harshbarger to go into Closed Session at 7:28 p.m for the purposes of: The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)
AYE: Dr. Harshbarger, Mrs. McCracken, Mr. Ratermann, Mrs. Rose, Mr. Scalf, Mrs. Young, and Mr. Stearns
NAY: None
Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
It was moved by Member Young and seconded by Member Scalf to go back into Open Session at 7:48 p.m.
AYE: Dr. Harshbarger, Mrs. McCracken, Mr. Ratermann, Mrs. Rose, Mr. Scalf, Mrs. Young, and Mr. Stearns
NAY: None
Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board, it was moved by Member Ratermann and seconded by Member Scalf that the meeting be adjourned. The President put the question to the Board and the motion unanimously carried and the meeting so adjourned at 7:49 p.m.
