The ROWVA Board of Education met in their regular meeting in the High School LMC. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Lake at 7:00 pm.

Mr. West moved and Mrs. Godsil seconded the motion to approve the Consent Agenda for the minutes of September 20, 2022 and October 11, 2022, the Treasurer’s Report, and the payment of all bills in Education, Operations and Maintenance, Transportation, IMRF, Working Cash, Fire/Safety and Activity Funds as listed on the official copy. Polled vote: Mr. Johnson (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. Kuelper (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. Lake (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. West (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mrs. Fleming (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mrs. Godsil (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), and Mrs. Bean (Aye ☒ Nay ☐). Motion carried.
People present were Board members, administrators, and community members.
Mrs. Danner presented the elementary principal’s report. She reviewed: Educational spotlight, professional development, and upcoming events/activities.
Mr. Rees presented the jr./sr. high school principal’s report. He reviewed: Student spotlight, education spotlight and upcoming sports/activities.
Dr. Dunlap presented the superintendent’s report. All items were Agenda items.
Dr. Dunlap recommended that the 3-Year Asbestos Inspection Agreement be approved. Mr. Kuelper moved and Mrs. Fleming seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Dr. Dunlap recommended that the Locker Room Project bid be accepted. Mr. Kuelper moved and Mr. West seconded the motion. Polled vote: Mr. Johnson (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. Kuelper (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. Lake (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. West (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mrs. Fleming (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mrs. Godsil (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), and Mrs. Bean (Aye ☒ Nay ☐). Motion carried.
Dr. Dunlap recommended that the November Board meeting be moved from November 22nd to November 15th. Mr. West moved and Mr. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Dr. Dunlap recommended that November 15, 2022, at 6:50 p.m. be the time set to hold a Tuition Waiver Hearing. Mrs. Godsil moved and Mr. Kuelper seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Mrs. Godsil moved and Mrs. Fleming seconded the motion to move into closed session to discuss personnel. Polled vote: Mr. Johnson (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. Kuelper (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. Lake (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. West (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mrs. Fleming (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mrs. Godsil (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), and Mrs. Bean (Aye ☒ Nay ☐). Motion carried.
Mrs. Godsil moved and Mr. Johnson seconded the motion to return to open session to discuss personnel. Polled vote: Mr. Johnson (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. Kuelper (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. Lake (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mr. West (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mrs. Fleming (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), Mrs. Godsil (Aye ☒ Nay ☐), and Mrs. Bean (Aye ☒ Nay ☐). Motion carried at 7:55 pm.
Dr. Dunlap recommended accepting Lindsay Campbell’s resignation (Elem Aide). Mrs. Bean moved and Mrs. Fleming seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Dr. Dunlap recommended accepting Dean Mastin’s resignation (Maintenance). Mr. Johnson moved and Mr. Kuelper seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Dr. Dunlap recommended hiring Nicole Crouse as an Elementary Aide. Mrs. Fleming moved and Mrs. Godsil seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Dr. Dunlap recommended hiring Sonrisa Nolan as the Volunteer Speech Team Coach. Mr. West moved and Mr. Kuelper seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Dr. Dunlap recommended hiring Kaevahn Pendleton as JV Assistant Wresting Coach. Mrs. Fleming moved and Mr. Kuelper seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Dr. Dunlap recommended hiring Derrick Pendleton as Varsity Assistant Wresting Coach. Mr. West moved and Mr. Johnson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Dr. Dunlap recommended hiring Tim Lynn (JH Boys Basketball) and Austin Skiles (Wresting) as Volunteer Coaches. Mrs. Godsil moved and Mr. Kuelper seconded the motion. Motion carried.
