In a recent Facebook post, state Sen. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) shared a week in review column that touched on a variety of topics including the availability of a tax credit for agritourism businesses.

"Agritourism businesses across the state can now apply for up to $1,000 in relief from liability insurance costs for 2022 and 2023," she said in the post.

The application is available now at www2.illinois.gov/sites/agr/Assistance/Pages/AgritourismTaxCredit.aspx.

The Senate approved the tax credit on April 19 as part of Senate Bill 157. The main aim of the tax credit is to reduce the costs associated with opening working farms up to the public for recreational activities.

Tracy said in her week in review that she was proud to support the bill when it passed and was signed into law as Public Act 102-0700 in April.
