In a Facebook post this week, Illinois state Sen. Win Stoller (R-Germantown Hills) recently announced traveling office hours in Germantown Hills and Spring Bay.

"My staff will be hosting Traveling Office Hours this Thursday at the Illinois Prairie District Public Libraries in Germantown Hills and Spring Bay," he said in the post. "Stop by if you need any state assistance or want to say hello."

In recent months, Stoller has become even more vocal about the need to support and fund police officers, particularly with the elimination of cash bail starting on Jan. 1; the NW Illinois News reported.

"As violent crime continues to spike throughout the state, we must not only ensure that our police are adequately funded but we must also implement policies that supports law enforcement officers and provides them with the tools they need to fight violent crimes," Stoller said in a Facebook post, quoted by the News. The post also included a link to a recent Wall Street Journal op-ed release titled "Defunding the Police and Consequences."

The senator opposes the Safety, Accountability, Fairness and Equity-Today (SAFE-T) Act, adding that the legislation was passed without public input.

"Beginning in January, state’s attorneys say they will have no choice but to release dangerous offenders from jail," Stoller said on Facebook, quoted this week by the Galesburg Reporter

Stoller was first elected to the Illinois Senate in 2021, the Senate website said. His legislative experience includes serving on the Environment and Conservation Committee and the Senate Higher Education Committee. He resides in Germantown Hills.
