McDonough County Human Resources and Planning Committee met July 14.

The Human Resources and Planning Committee met at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members in attendance included Vice Chair Deckle McLean, George Dixon, Vicky Kipling, Michael Kirby, and Dave Nissen. Members Cindi Helling, Rod McGrew, and Chair Letha Clark were absent, Others in attendance included Joe Rossmiller, Karen Blakeley, County Chair Scott Schwerer, Patrick Stout, Bonnie Scripps, John Vigezzi and Committee Secretary Stacey Alexander.
Vice Chair Deckle McLean called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Review and Approve Minutes from June 9, 2022
Member Kirby moved with a second by Member Dixon to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion on a voice vote.
Animal Control Report
Joe Rossmiller gave the report. There was 10 dogs and 44 cats in the shelter at the end of June. A discussion was held regarding how successful they have been getting cats adopted since they have been taking them to the Pet Supply Plus store, and how long the animal shelter is required to hold cats. County Chair Schwerer discussed a phone call he received from an unhappy person regarding a cat adoption, Rossmiller explained the policy on adoptions.
Humane Society
Bonnie Scripps informed the Committee that they have been taking extra cats to the Pet Supply Plus store one weekend a month, on July 23 they will take some to the Rushville High School as they will be having an event at the park. They made $11,000.00 at their golf outing fundraiser.

GIS Update

Approve West Central FS Inc. LP Gas Contract
Member Kirby made a motion to raise the amount of gallons purchased from 1,550 to 2,000 gallons and to use payment option 3 moved with a second by Member Dixon. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Claims
Member Dixon moved with a second by Member Kirby to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

County Board Chair Comments
County Chair Schwerer thanked the Committee for the employee lunch picnic.
Adjourn
Member Kipling moved with a second by Member Nissen to adjourn the meeting at 7:45 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
