Call to Order/Roll Call
The Community Unit School District #205 Board of Education met for a special meeting at 5:00 PM at 932 Harrison St., Galesburg, IL. The roll was read and the following Members responded: Bess-Tabb, Boettcher, Cervantez, Phelps, Scherpe, Lyon via phone (6) Absent: Rodriguez (1) Roll Call #1
Closed Session
It was moved by Member Cervantez and seconded by Member Bess-Tabb to move to closed session for the purpose of a student disciplinary hearing. On roll call the following Members voted AYE: Bess-Tabb, Boettcher, Phelps, Scherpe, Cervantez, Lyon (6) Motion carried. Roll Call #2
Following closed session, it was moved by Member Phelps and seconded by Member Boettcher to move to open session. On roll call the following Members voted AYE: Phelps, Scherpe, Boettcher, Cervantez, Lyon, Bess-Tabb (6) Motion carried. Roll Call #3
It was moved by Member Cervantez and seconded by Member Boettcher that student #61322 was found to be in violation of school rules and committeed an act of gross disobedience or misconduct by threatening students and staff. On roll call the following Members voted AYE: Boettcher, Cervantez, Lyon, Bess-Tabb, Scherpe, Phelps (6) Motion carried. Roll Call #4
It was moved by Member Phelps and seconded by Member Cervantez to return to closed session for the purpose of a student disciplinary hearing. On roll call the following Members voted AYE: Phelps, Scherpe, Bess-Tabb, Boettcher, Cervantez, Lyon (6) Motion carried. Roll Call #5
It was moved by Member Phelps and seconded by Member Cervantez to move to open session. On roll call the following Members voted AYE: Shcerpe, Cervantez, Bess-Tabb, Boettcher, Lyon, Phelps (6) Motion carried. Roll Call #6
It was moved by Member Bess- Tabb and seconded by Member Cervantez that student #61322 be expelled for the 2022-2023 school year but that the expulsion should be held in abeyance for the purpose of the student attending RAES and that the student be prohibited from being on school grounds during the expulsion period. The student shall be permitted to attend his siblings’ extra-curricular events upon completion of a safety evaluation and plan developed by district administration at the administration’s sole discretion. On roll call the following Members voted AYE: Scherpe, Bess-Tabb, Boettcher, Cervantez, Lyon, Phelps (6) Motion carried. Roll Call #7

It was moved by Member Cervantez and seconded by Member Boettcher that the meeting be adjourned—6:21PM. On voice vote the following Members voted AYE: Phelps, Scherpe, Bess Tabb, Boettcher, Cervantez Lyon (6) Motion carried. Roll Call #7
