ROWVA Community Unit School District 208 Board of Education met June 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Pledge of Pledge of Allegiance…

The ROWVA Board of Education met in a special meeting in the High School LMC. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Lake at 6:30 pm.

The following members answered roll call at 6:30 pm:

Mr. Johnson (Present ☒ Not Present ☐), Mr. Kuelper (Present ☒ Not Present ☐), Mr. Lake (Present ☒ Not Present ☐), Mr. West (Present ☒ Not Present ☐), Mrs. Fleming (Present ☒ Not Present ☐), Mrs. Godsil (Present ☒ Not Present ☐), and Mrs. Bean (Present ☐ Not Present ☒). Motion carried.

People present were Board members and administrators.

Mr. Johnson moved and Mr. West seconded the motion to accept the agenda for the meeting.

The Board of Education recommended hiring Shane Tucker as the District Assistant Principal. Mr. Kuelper moved and Mrs. Fleming seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Mr. Sornberger recommended accepting the resignations from Stephanie Matthew (HS Chemistry), Karoline Kamzic (JH Science), Dena Baity (Band), Karla Perez (JH Special Education Aide), and Ali Imming (Elementary Counselor) at the end of the 2021-2022 school year. Mr. West moved and Mrs. Godsil seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Mr. Sornberger recommended hiring Tina West (HS Football, Basketball and Comp. Cheer Assistant Coach), Hannah Johnson (4th Grade Teacher), and Tony Triplett and Chad Goff (JH Football Assistant Coaches). Mrs. Godsil moved and Mrs. Fleming seconded the motion. Motion carried with one abstention.

Mr. Sornberger recommended approval to post openings for HS Band, an Elementary Teacher (3rd Grade), a JH Special Education Aide, and an Elementary Counselor. Mrs. Fleming moved and Mrs. Godsil seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The Board of Education recommended raises for Tina West, Nikki Steward and Julie Storm for the 2022-2023 school year. Mr. Kuelper moved and Mrs. Fleming seconded the motion. Motion carried with two abstentions.

Mr. Kuelper moved and Mr. Johnson seconded the motion to adjourn at 6:36 pm. Motion carried.
