Sen. Win Stoller (R-Peoria) recently took to Facebook to talk about his visit with the Geneseo Chamber of Commerce’s Zack Sullivan.

“It’s always good to sit down with Zack Sullivan at the Geneseo Chamber of Commerce and hear what legislative issues are important to northwestern Henry County,” Stoller posted. "Also, the Chamber is a great source of local event information and supports a community calendar featuring a variety of activities including Geneseo Shoot the Loop, described on their site as one of the best monthly small town car cruise events in the Midwest. Thanks, Geneseo Chamber, for all you do!"

The Geneseo Shoot the Loop is a monthly summer car show and cruise that features hot rods, modern and classic muscle cars, cruisers, touring, 4x4s, and bikes of all types. The event also includes food trucks, live music and DJs. The next cruises are set for July 9, Aug. 13 and Sept. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Geneseo Shoot the Loop started as a way to support local small businesses during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stoller also recently visited Geneseo Park District’s community center and aquatic center.

“I recently had an opportunity to take a tour of the Geneseo Park District's wonderful facilities,” Stoller posted on Facebook. “Thank you to Executive Director Andy Thurman for showing me around.”

The Geneseo Chamber of Commerce will host its 53rd Geneseo Music Festival June 17 to 19 that will feature live music and a farmer’s market.

Stoller recently honored hospital workers. In a May 13 Facebook post, Stoller shared a little about his time visiting Hammond-Henry Hospital, commemorating National Hospital Week.

“I truly enjoyed being able to celebrate National Hospital Week with the Health Care Team at Hammond-Henry Hospital,” Stoller wrote on Facebook. “To all health care workers, thank you for everything that you do!”
