In a May 24 Facebook post, Rep. Dan Swanson (R-Woodhull) announced a campaign stop in Coal Valley on June 6.
"I hope you'll join me at Happy Joe's Pizza in Coal Valley on Monday, June 6!" Swanson posted.
State senate candidate Mike Thoms and U.S. House of Representatives candidate Esther Joy King will join Swanson. Happy Joe's Pizza is at 320 West 1st Ave., in Coal Valley.
Esther Joy King is running to represent Illinois' 17th District. She is a lawyer and captain in the U.S. Army Reserves. Her parents were missionaries on the U.S. Mexico border as she grew up.
Thoms was CEO of Thoms-Proestler Co., before retiring and turning to real estate development.
In April, Swanson and Thoms visited Galesburg for some door-to-door campaigning.
