City of Galesburg Community Relations Commission met March 3.

Meeting called to order on March 3, 2022 at 6:05pm by King.  

Members Present: King, Wallace, Dabale, Grimes, McKillip  

City Liaison: Pease  

Review of minutes. No minutes were presented at the meeting  

Chairman’s Remark  

 None  

Old Business  

 King reviewed the Jones complaint. Proper documentation not received from entity or  respondent. Action ideas were presented. The commission agreed to reach out again to the  respondent and discuss any rent issues with the complainant. McKillip made a motion to gather  all missing documentation from respondent and summary rent assistance, rent regulations and  have a conversation with Mr. Jones.  

 Grimes gave report of meeting with Dr. Asplund. Two Freedom of information requests will be a  submitted by the NAACP for further information.  

New Business  

 None.  

Community Events  

 PFLAG March 12 2:30 pm – 4 pm at the Public Library for Spring Kick-off.

Pease made a remark to all commissioners that the Illinois state mandate regarding the open meetings  act will end and all commissioners are to meet in person at the next meeting.
