11

Box Score The Monmouth College men's lacrosse team set multiple school records on Tuesday night with a 19-1 home win over Concordia University Chicago. The 19 goals are a school record, as is the 18-goal margin of victory and the Scots tied the school record, allowing just one goal. Monmouth (4-2) scored the first 11 goals of the game and the final eight goals in the dominating win.

"This was a very good offensive team win," said coach Thomas Van Alstine. "Probably the best put together team wins we've had, arguably in team history. We had a lot of possession, controlled the game and had some great shots."

The Scots got on the board with 11:38 to play in the first quarter as Kain Dononhoo (St. Charles, Illinois) scored unassisted. Just over a minute later, Jeff Knapp (Nolensville, Tennessee) made it 2-0 with his 99th career goal. Donohoo scored again with 7:56 to play in the quarter, assisted by Knapp. With 34 seconds left in the quarter, Knapp hit the century mark as the first player in school history with 100 goals.

"Incredible what Jeff has done, super happy for him," said Van Alstine. "He's an awesome player and teammate and a great leader on the field. I'm happy to have been part of some of those 100 goals on the field and now excited to see where he takes it the rest of the year."

Leading 4-0 into the second quarter, Monmouth added on within 90 seconds as Liam Meyer (Cedarburg, Wisconsin) scored. Knapp scored again for a 6-0 lead and Jack White (Omaha, Nebraska) made it 7-0 as Donohoo picked up the assist. LH Bond (Fishers, Indiana) scored 30 seconds later and White added two more goals for a 10-0 Scots lead.

Knapp gave the Scots an 11-0 lead with his fourth goal of the game. Concordia got their first goal of the game with 1:47 to play in the second quarter. Knapp scored again, one minute later, assisted by Donohoo. Monmouth took a 13-1 lead into halftime as Donohoo scored with 21 seconds left in the half.

"We had to show up early and no matter who the opponent is we have to come out strong, set the tone and bring it in the first half," said Van Alstine

Monmouth picked up where they left off as Meyer scored early in the third quarter for a 14-1 lead. Mason Sanford (Peoria, Illinois) scored with 7:45 to play, giving the Scots a new season high at 15 goals. Donohoo scored his fourth goal of the game, assisted by White, with 6:03 to play.

White's fourth goal came just over two minutes into the fourth quarter for a 17-1 Scots lead. Meyer scored with 6:31 to play as the Scots tied the school record with 18 goals in a game. With 3:08 to play, Sanford scored to give the Scots a new record with 19 goals scored.

"We didn't force plays and we kept playing hard," said Van Alstine. "We have to play our game, Monmouth lacrosse and fight through every whistle and play hard."
