Galesburg Community Unit School District #205 Board of Education met March 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Call to Order/Roll Call 

The Community Unit School District #205 Board of Education met for a special meeting at 5:00 PM at 932 Harrison St., Galesburg, IL. The roll was read and  the following Members responded: Bess-Tabb (via phone), Boettcher, Cervantez, Phelps,  Rodriguez, Scherpe (6) Absent: Lyon (1) Roll Call #1 

Closed Session 

It was moved by Member Phelps and seconded by Member Rodriguez to move to closed session for the purpose of a student disciplinary hearing. On roll call the following Members voted AYE:  Bess-Tabb, Boettcher, Phelps, Rodriguez, Scherpe, Cervantez (6) Motion carried. Roll Call #2 

Following closed session, it was moved by Member Phelps and seconded by Member Rodriguez to move to open session. On roll call the following Members voted AYE: Phelps, Rodriguez,  Scherpe, Bess-Tabb, Boettcher, Cervantez (6) Motion carried. Roll Call #3 

Action: 

It was moved by Member Rodriguez and seconded by Member Boettcher to expel student  #221620 for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year and through the first semester of the  2022-2023 school year with homebound services available during expulsion. On roll call the  following Members voted AYE: Phelps, Rodriguez, Scherpe, Bess-Tabb, Boettcher, Cervantez (6) Motion carried. Roll Call #4 

Adjournment 

It was moved by Member Phelps and seconded by Member Rodriguez that the meeting be  adjourned—5:57PM. On roll call the following Members voted AYE: Phelps, Rodriguez,  Scherpe, Bess-Tabb, Boettcher, Cervantez (6) Motion carried. Roll Call #5
