McDonough County Finance Committee met Oct. 13.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The monthly Finance Committee meeting was held at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Law Library. Committee members present were Chair Travis Hiel, Vice Chair Larry Aurelio, Letha Clark, Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, Joe Erlandson, and Dave Nissen. Others in attendance included County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.

Chair Hiel called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Review and Approve Minutes from September 1, 2021 and September 8, 2021 Member Clark moved with a second by Vice Chair Aurelio to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

MCPT Report Review & Approval

The monthly request for October 2021 was reviewed. Vice Chair Aurelio moved with a second by Member Nissen to approve the MCPT Report in the amount of $1,048.50 for October, 2021. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Bushnell Senior Meals Report Review & Approval

The monthly report for October 2021 from the YMCA for transportation of senior meals was reviewed. Member Erlandson moved with a second by Vice Chair Aurelio to approve the October 2021 YMCA report in the amount of $1,040.97. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Coroner Report

The monthly Coroner Report was received and filed.

Monthly Financial Reports

The monthly Financial Reports were received and filed.

Transfer of Funds

Transferred $250,000.00 to Mutual Medical.

Warrants Issued in Vacation

Vice Chair Aurelio moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the Warrants Issued in Vacation. Motion carried on a voice vote.

John Curtis

Executive Director of Good Food Collaborative John Curtis would like $20,000.00 of ARPA money for a walk-in cooler. They would also like $2,400.00 per month for the next twenty-four months for food.

Insurance Update

Keith Krohe discussed Health Insurance. Crossroads, Pickering, and Medical Mutual would like a three year renewal. The County Health Insurance plan is running a little ahead of this time last year but still running smoothly.

Symetra Reinsurance

The Committee would like to send to Full Board to increase the Symetra Reinsurance to $95,000.00. Crossroads, Pickering, and Mutual Medical would like to renew the existing contracts for a 3 year period. Crossroads and Pickering are at the same cost. Mutual Medical is at a slight increase.

Premium Pay

A discussion was held on 911 Premium Pay. Chair Hiel is going to discuss with the Sheriff the other entities covering their share. The Ordinance for Premium pay for County Employees will go to full board.

Spy Glass Agreement

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Vice Chair Aurelio to send the Spy Glass Snapshot Audit Agreement to Full Board.

AMEND FY 2021 McDonough County Liability Insurance Fund Budget

Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark to send the AMEND FY 2021 McDonough County Liability Insurance (Safety Grant) Fund Budget to Full Board.

Discuss Contract to Preform SDPP/SVPP Cases

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Vice Chair Aurelio to Approve Stephani Hilton’s request for the Contact with Mr. Breedlove. With a budgeted amount of $9,500.00. Motion Carried on a voice vote.

Approval of Claims

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the Claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

County Board Chair Comments

County Chair Schwerer thanked all that helped with new flag and flagpole.

Adjourn

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Clark to adjourn the meeting at 7:36 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
