Abingdon-Avon Community Unit No. 276 Board of Education met Nov. 3.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. The special meeting of the Abingdon-Avon CUSD 276 Board of Education  was called to order at 7:00 p.m. with Hess presiding. The following members were present: Craver, Serven, Mason, Brooks, Quinn, Thurman, and Hess.

2. A motion was made by Mr. Quinn and seconded by Mr. Mason to go into Executive Session at 8:27 p.m. Roll call: Thurman, yea; Craver, yea; Serven, yea; Mason, yea; Brooks, yea; Quinn, yea; and Hess, yea. Motion passed.

3. A motion was made by Mr. Mason and seconded by Mr. Thurman to return to Open Session at 9:12 p.m. Roll call: Quinn, yea; Thurman, yea; Craver, yea; Serven, yea; Mason, yea; Brooks, yea; and Hess, yea. Motion passed.

4. A motion was made by Mr. Thurman and Seconded by Mr. Mason to Amended Contact Tracing and Mitigation Protocols to include students who have a negative Test-to-Stay following a Close Contact will not be subject to the 14 Day Exclusion from Extra Curricular Activities including Sporting Contests and eliminate contact tracing in cafeteria settings. Per discussion this motion was additionally amended to strike the elimination of contact tracing in cafeteria settings language. The Board voted to approve amending the original motion: Roll call; Quinn, yea; Thurman, yea; Craver, yea; Serven, yea; Mason, yea; Brooks, yea; and Hess, yea. 

5. A motion was made by Mr. Thurman and seconded by Mr. Serven to approve the Amended Contact Tracing and Mitigation Protocols to include students who have a negative Test-toStay following a Close Contact will not be subject to the 14 Day Exclusion from Extra Curricular Activities including Sporting Contests. Roll call: Brooks, yea; Quinn, yea; Thurman, yea; Craver, yea; Serven, yea; Mason, yea; and Hess, yea. Motion passed. 

6. No motion was made to Amended Current Staff Testing Requirements. Motion failed. 7. A motion was made by Mr. Serven and seconded by Mr. Mason to Adjourn at 9:36 p.m. Roll call: Serven, yea; Mason, yea; Brooks, yea; Quinn, yea; Thurman, yea; Craver, yea; and Hess, yea. Motion passed.
