City of Galesburg issued the following announcement on Aug.26
Today, August 26, 2021, Governor JB Pritzker announced, effective Monday, August 30, the entire state of Illinois will be under an indoor face-covering mandate, regardless of vaccination status. The City of Galesburg returned to a mask requirement in City facilities on August 2, 2021, and will continue to implement the face-covering requirement in City Hall and all City of Galesburg facilities.
In addition to the State instituted indoor mask mandate beginning August 30, there are also new vaccination requirements for certain industries:
- P-12 teachers and staff
- Higher education personnel
- Higher education students
- Healthcare workers in most settings
