Knox College Gender and Women's Studies issued the following announcement on July 8
Knox College has begun a new chapter in its 184-year history. On July 1, 2021, C. Andrew McGadney became Knox's 20th president.
During his first day in office, McGadney welcomed Knox students, faculty, and staff at a breakfast on Plomin Terrace.“Over the next several months, I really want to know what’s on your mind,” McGadney said. “I’m here to listen and learn: to understand the culture. And together, we will then build a plan for the future. We need to be sure that the world knows about Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. We can do that together.”
The president’s first day was filled with meetings with faculty, staff, alumni, prospective students and families, and the Board of Trustees. In the evening, McGadney met with current Knox students for pizza outside Seymour Union.
