City of Galesburg Planning and Zoning Commission Met April 13.

Chairman declared quorum present.
Approve Minutes of the March 23, 2021 meeting
Member Lee moved to approve the minutes, seconded by Member Thomas.
Minutes were approved by voice vote.
Update Past Planning and Zoning Commission items
∙ There are no applications submitted at this time, so the regularly scheduled meeting for April 20, 2021 is cancelled.
∙ Ordinance amendment to allow a Rage Room as a Special Use in all Business and Industrial zoning districts. This item was on first reading at Council’s April 5, 2021 meeting and will be on Final reading at their April 19, 2021 meeting.

PZ-21-0301 Public Hearing Setback variance to allow an addition on the rear of the house to be 3 feet 4 inches to the side property line, located at 1529 Florence Ave. PIN 99-02-330-014.
The applicant, Terry Woolsey was present.
The Commission members considered the following items:
∙ The granting of the requested variance would not be detrimental to or endanger the public health, safety, morals, comfort or general welfare;
∙ The granting of the variance would not be injurious to the use and enjoyment of other property in the immediate vicinity, nor substantially diminish or impair property values within the adjacent area;
∙ The variance will not alter the essential character of the neighborhood.
∙ The Development Review Committee reviewed the proposed variance and recommend approval. Member Thomas moved, seconded by Member Uhlmann to approve the variance.
