Abingdon-Avon Community Unit School District 276 Board of Education Met March 3.

The special meeting of the Abingdon-Avon CUSD 276 Board of Education was called to order at 7:01 p.m. with Brooks presiding. The following members were present: Mason, Hess, Craver, Quinn, Serven, and Brooks. Mrs. Terwilliger was absent.
The Following Addition was made to the Agenda:
a. Capacity Question
b. SIP Days
2. A motion was made by Mr. Quinn and seconded by Mr. Serven to approve the Agenda. Roll call: Mason, yea; Hess, yea; Craver, yea; Quinn, yea; Serven, yea; and Brooks, yea. Motion passed
3. A motion was made by Mr. Hess and seconded by Mr. Quinn to Enter into Executive Session at 8:10 p.m. Roll call: Mason, yea; Hess, yea; Craver, yea; Quinn, yea; Serven, yea; and Brooks, yea. Motion passed.
4. A motion was made by Mr. Quinn and seconded by Mr. Mason to Return to Open Session at 8:53 p.m. Roll call: Mason, yea; Hess, yea; Craver, yea; Quinn, yea; Serven, yea; and Brooks, yea. Motion passed.
5. Discussion Items:
5.1 Current Learning Model: After hearing from members of the audience and a report from the Board members who attended a meeting with staff earlier in the month, the Board elected to stay with the current learning model through the end of the year.
5.2 a. Capacity Question: The Board authorized Dr. Curry to sign on to an IASA petition for moving from a hard number capacity maximum to a percentage of capacity model.
5.3 b. SIP Days: The Board has approved the use of the early dismissal for professional learning on March 12 and will revisit the use of the remaining SIP days in FY 21.
6. A motion was made by Mr. Mason and seconded by Mr. Brooks to Adjourn at 7:24 p.m. Roll call: Terwilliger, yea; Craver, yea; Serven, yea; Mason, yea; Hess, yea; Quinn, yea; and Brooks, yea. Motion passed.
