Even with the pandemic raging, firefighters in Galesburg haven’t let challenges stop their community outreach efforts.

Members of the Galesburg Fire Department Local 555 remain committed to raising funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA’s) annual “Fill-The-Boot” fundraising campaign.

This year, the campaign, spearheaded by the International Association of Fire Fighters, is a touchless one – and the Galesburg firefighters have raised $15,460 after creating their campaign in the fall of 2020.

“Galesburg Firefighters have once again shown their immense dedication and care for MDA’s families during their 2020 Fill-the-Boot,” said Kelsey Tomko, development director for the MDA. “Their 2020 Fill-the-Boot was a success and we’re so grateful for the generosity of those in the community who have helped support MDA’s mission again this year.”

There’s hope that the Fill-the-Boot campaign will be in-person for the fall of 2021, but Galesburg firefighters have their virtual campaign up and running already.  To learn more or to make a donation, visit their website today.
