Q2 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Henderson County?

There were two offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2020 that live in Henderson County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Galesburg Reporter.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in Henderson County were men. The younger parolee was a 39-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2019. The other was a 50-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was James A. Murphy. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2018 when he was 47 years old. He is now 50.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2020 in each Henderson County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
