Sen. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) will serve as a spokesperson for the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Senate Environment and Conservation Committee for the 102nd General Assembly.

“Senator Tracy is widely respected not just in our caucus, but the General Assembly as a whole,” Senate Republican Leader Dan McConchie (R-Hawthorn Woods) said in a release. “She knows exactly who she is and what she is here to do. That confidence and understanding of what Illinois needs to become more successful is invaluable in our leadership team. We will rely heavily on her experience and insight as our Republican Senate Caucus Whip.”

Her responsibilities on the standing committee will include analyzing legislation dealing with specific areas, including education, agriculture and transportation. Committees screen legislation introduced by all members for consideration by the entire Senate.

Tracy is also a member of the Senate Agriculture, Criminal Law, Education, Ethics, Executive and Revenue committees.
